No you cant. Its not overated as its a hightly irritating disease to have - once you have it, thats it for life. Its an infection that can itch and look unsightly. However, its not the end of the world if you have it. Just dont have sex with anyone during a flare up as its highly contagious. It can be controlled (very effectively) with medication.

hello,
there are two types of herpes. the first is known as "above the waiste" and the other is known as "under the waiste". the latter is more related to STD's and the main infection area is the genitalia. the first type is common in the facial area especially around the lips.
the problem with herpes is that once you got it.. you'll have it for the rest of your life. the virus attacks are usually expected after a 24 hour prodrome. 7 to 10 days later the virus returns to the latent phase and hides in sensory nerve ganglia.
main considerations:
don't infect a child or an infant. it is much more dangerous to them.
avoid oral sex during the prodrome/attack period.
herpes alone usually cannot kill you since the anti viral drugs and the immunity system can cope with it. problems in the immunity system can severe the course of the disease.

yes, herpes is a little overrated. it can be very uncomfortable and annoying. but there are worse things out there. if you have it, refrain from wearing tight pants while your having an outbreak. no you can't die from it. however, it lowers your immune system a bit which can make it easier to contract hiv.

no herpes isn't overrated..most ppl don't understand that when you have an out break and your getting ready to have a baby, it can cause serious problems with the child. blindness is one..but you can also take prescriptions that will limit your out breaks..and no you can't die from it

Herpes is not overated and you don't die from it but it is a nasty disease that is easily spread. So many people think it can't happen to them and then it does.
