The main problem with diabetes is most of the time you don't know you have it until you've had it for years. My husband is diabetic and I've learned a lot about this condition. You can be thirsty and pee a lot for many reasons, not just diabetes. The major risk factors for becoming diabetic is: overweight, family history and age. On your next trip to the doctors office ask for an A1C blood test. This test is a 3 month average of your blood sugar levels and will let you know if you've become diabetic. Only after having diabetes for years unchecked or untreated, then you can start to have circulation problems, problems with your eyes etc.

Diabetes comes with or without symptoms. If you are 35 and older go take a fasting glucose test immediately if you happen to be borderline then go to this site www.diabetes.org Your sugar level should be fasting below 115 after food 135 if both these numbers crossed, then you are border line If you hit above 180 then you are a diabetic. If you want to take care of you please check your A-1 c test. This will indicate where is your health now and where you will go and an option to remedy.

INSTEAD OF ASKING QUESTIONS FIRST TAKE A SUGAR TEST AND THEN COME TO YAHOO ANSWERS then people can help you seeing your conditions. We need the values. go get it.

Usually people who have diabetes diagnosed for the very first time complain of:

feeling unwell

urinating a lot

being very thirsty

Often they will have some other illness - perhaps a pneumonia or a urine infection, or perhaps a viral illness - something that triggers things off and makes them much worse.

symptoms of diabetes may include, extreme thirst, frequent urination and weight loss and many more, diabetics do report craving sweets, but its not a good diagnostic factor. people with diabetes have low blood sugar as well as high blood sugar and can be extremely tired blurred vision, weak, shaky dizzy, but if you suspect you may have diabetes the best thing to do is talk with your family physcian, because diabetes left untreated is dangerous

Weak and craving sweets may be low sugar.

Diabetes is high sugar and commonly included hungry, thirst and excessive urination.

Dizziness and passing out are two signs.
Craving sweets is not really a sign of
diabetes.
A doctor can tell from a blood sample.
