That's an almost impossible question to answer as it is very vague and all encompassing. Basically continental cuisine is cuisine that originates from a particular continent. I live in Ireland so we assume it would mean cuisine from continental Europe. There is not one set menu throughout the whole continent through. Normally continental cuisine is varied as different countries and even different regions have their own recipes, different ingredients and different customs for food preparation. For example, the diet in the Scandinavian countries is far different to that in the Mediterranean countries as the climate is so different.

Spain, France, Italy, Sicily, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway... Usually they mean it as the continent of europe. It can be anything really, a continental breakfast can be toased bread in a bowl of olive oil or salt, croissants, a european cereal brand...other continental meals can be anything. Just track the cultures in each country of the continent and see how they eat, and what they eat is therefore the continental cuisine in a whole.

Continental cuisine means the foods of many different European countries, not just France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, but Germany, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and many more countries. The recipes of these countries are often as different as day is from night.
Even if the recipes have similar names, their ingredients are often different, and their preferred herbs and spices are different in every country. Hungary for instant likes to put Paprika in most of their spiced foods. France cooks mostly with fresh herbs.
