Cardamon, Nigella, Cumin, Mustard seeds and fenugreek- (I don't know what that is..sorry!).
Also add coriander (depending on the dish), lentils, turmeric, fennel seeds, chilli etc. Not to mention garlic, oh and also cloves.

There are various types of spices It depends on the kind of dish we cook. Some of the spices commonly used in south indian seasonings include cumin, fenugreek, mustard, red chillies, pepper, coriander, bay leaves. In north Indian foods spices like garlic, cinnamon, clove,poppy seeds, bay leaves can be used. For dishes like sambar, rasam biryani you can find instant spice mix at grocery stores for Indian food.

Mustard, cayenne, cumin, coriander, fenugreek, anise, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, asafoetida, pepper, turmeric and to a lesser extent garlic.
The curry familiar to North Americans is a generic type. Like what Dominos is to real Italian pizza.

take it from me people from india hardly if ever use curry powder as such,they make up their own mixture as they go along,some dishes have special mixtures but others aren't hurt by new combinations.basic whole spices are cinnamon,cloves,cardamom,these are used whole or broken up into bits or powdered,standard powdered spices are chillie,tumeric,cumin , coriander & pepper in powder form,.garam masala varies in it's combinations,but is a mixture of powdred spices.
