The snorer needs to go to a sleep clinic to be checked for a serious condition called sleep apnea. This not only robs the snorer and everyone else in the house of rest, it can actually cause heart damage and death!

Sleep apnea is rarely treated by surgery. Most apnea patients use a night breathing aid called a CPAP, which eliminates apnea and snoring 100% and enables everyone to get a good night's sleep.

Do not delay - most sleep doctors have a long waiting list, and the longer the condition goes untreated, the more dangerous it is. You do need a prescription for a CPAP, as a wrongly adjusted one - too high or too low pressure for your nees - can be harmful.

Good luck - and ask the doctor for a referral to a sleep clinic ASAP.

I don't know, but I'm about ready to take a baseball bat to my husband (just kidding). Seriously though, nothing he's tried has worked, including the sprays, strips over the nose, etc. I just have to get up and go sleep on the couch, and sometimes that doesn't help. It's terribly loud. Good luck.

Send them to a sleep clinic. Nothing over the counter has stopped my husband yet.

Have this person see his/her primary care physician(PCP) and request a Sleep Study and a referral to a Ear Nose and Throat(ENT) physician. Between the two, the best "fix" will be prescribed.

I wake my husband up and make him change positions this stops it for a while. How about some breathe right nasal strips?

I had surgery to correct sleep apnea. It wasn't pleasant, but it did the job.
