We usually have ham but I was considering making some prime rib this year. It just sounds soooo good.

YMMMM, sounds like you and your family will be enjoying CHRISTmas dinner. My family has tried just about every menu that you can think of but we always come back to Roast Turkey, and Ham, Potato casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade baked mac and cheese, baked beans, and a pot of brown beans, a side dish we call "the green stuff",{ a secret family recipe}, stuffing, plum pudding, homemade rolls, queso and chips, broccoli casserole, green beans, little smokies, and a side of roasted corn on the cob. This is a lot I realize, esp since this is just our "sit down" meal, this does not include the appetizers before dinner or any of the deserts but this is the menu that my wonderful mother, my beautiful sister, and myself make, usually, ever CHRISTmas. I hope that you and yours enjoy this holiday season as much as we do. Merry CHRISTmas.

Nut Roast with Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

packet of nut roast
mushrooms
onions
garlic
salt
pepper

To make a shop bought nut roast more tasty try covering with a delicious mushroom sauce.

Fry some mushrooms, onions and garlic which have been finely chopped until golden brown. Then add some flour to the mixture to form a thick paste.

Then slowly add soya milk until the sauce is the required consistency. Season with salt and pepper and serve piping hot poured over generous slices of nut roast.
