you can pass it to your partner once you have it, but you can get it through other means then sex, like taking tetracycline. you can now buy cures over the counter, like monistat.

No it's not.
Yeast (Candida albicans) normally lives in small numbers in several different parts of the body. A yeast "infection" is an overgrowth of bugs that were already there.
It would be nice if some STD educators got their facts straight about this. The confusion comes because the genitals are the commonest place to get such an "infection", and Candida is a microorganism.
Grrrrrrrrrr.

No not necessarily a STD. A yeast infection is a "normal" occurrence in a women, even babies and get a form of a yeast infection called Thrush. A women can have reoccurring yeast infections(see a DR.) or it can be caused by an imbalance in body or taking antibiotics. good & bad Bacteria are present in vagina when antibiotics are taken it kills good bacteria too sometimes causing a yeast inf. But yes I heard a man that has sex w/ a women who has one can possibly transfer it to another partner.

confident, she would be able to. Which if intercourse isn't shunned till the two have won medical care and have recovered might reason the couple to bypass the yeast an infection backward and forward. Yeast infections are brought about with the help of an atypical strengthen of micro organism and in basic terms like each micro organism, those could be transmitted!

It can be sexually transmitted but is not considered an std.Now let me tell you how to get rid of one and it not come back.
First no woman should douche,it strips the body of the natural flora that women need to keep our female parts in good health.
A yeast infection is when the natural flora is disrupted,it can be by antibiotics also.Yogurt is very good to eat to keep the flora right. It is the PH balance in us that gets out of whack.Having sex with just one partner will be best also.No bathes in a tub either, only showers.

No its not a STD. It is an infection could have been from a perscription that she probably could have taken or some women getting them fequently too many yeast infections can harm them over a period of time. But it would not lead to STD's.

yeast infection is usually from not being dry down there. most people usually get them right after their period but they can happen at any time and to a person of any age. if you get them often then its a problem you need checked out. they only way your going to get it like an std is if you have sex with someone while you have an infection. they can be passed back and forth if the male is never treated. usually difulcan does the trick.

It may be transmitted sexually. It is a chemical imbalance.Sometimes it may be a reaction to ,,lets say,,soap.Try Pure & Natural or Ivory.I think it can also be from being alergic to certain condoms.
