The cold never left your system it just went into remission. Take plenty of vitamin c and drink plenty of water. This is may not be the answer to everything but this might help.

Oh, my, yes. There are hundreds of different cold viruses out there, all of which can infect you at any time, including right after you get over one of a different strain. Your immunity to cold viruses--and there is such a thing--will develop over time. As you age, you develop resistance to some of them, so you will actually get fewer as you get into middle age. You will never be completely free of them because there are so blasted many of them. And of course, later in life your immune system weakens so you'll get more then. Sorry about that. It's just the way it goes, I'm afraid.

Another thing: you may be tempted to try antibiotics. Don't waste your money. Antibiotics work only on bacteria, not on viruses, and so they may cure an secondary opportunistic infection ( a bacterium that can attack because your immune system is somewhat depleted from attacking the cold virus), but they will do nothing for your cold virus. Or any other, for that matter.

Most over-the-counter cold "remedies" will not shorten the length of your cold, either. They can make it easier to bear, and for that reason may be good to use, but, what do they say, if you treat your cold, you'll get over it in fourteen days. If you do nothing, it'll drag on for two weeks? That's about the state of it.

If you did not finish your antibiotic the problem will come back stronger and you will need stronger antibiotic. Or you may now need to go get some meds from the doc. if you did not do it with the 1st cold. And sometimes you need a 2nd dose of antibiotics even if you did take all your med. or you could be getting a new cold, but cold are not cured by antibiotics and are only given in extreme cases, most cold can be cured with over the counter meds but strong cough med come from the doctor. I would start some kind of med now while you feel it coming on.

There are over 400 different strains that are still effective and if you ever caught one strain, then you'll be immune to that one strain for the rest of your life but you'll be open to any other strain of the cold virus. So basically, any strain you've had before, you're immune to. The ones you havent been effected by, you're not immune to. You can be effected by unexperienced cold virus strains at any time - even right after you got over another cold.

Have you seen description of diseases. Half of them say either cold like symptoms or flu like symptoms. I seriously doubt they are colds. Have you thought of seasonal allergies if your getting them in seasonal intervals? Most people don't get colds twice a year. They usually get them randomly. It's possible, but highly unlikely. Even if there is another strain going around, you are partially immune. You might be unlucky or immunosupress, but It's most likely something other than a cold coming back.
