One of the simplest recipes i make is "Peppermint Brittle"

Just melt some white chocolate or almond bark and stir in crushed peppermint candies (the red and white ones). Let set, break up and package.

Can do a fruit version of this to by using dried cranberries oar blueberries !! YUM !!!

Here are some of my favorite jar recipes:

Dreamsicle Cookies

1/2 c. Tang
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vanilla chips
1 3/4 c. flour mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar. Press each layer down firmly before adding next layer.

Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Add: 1 stick butter, 1 egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Place 2" apart on sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-14 min until tops are very lightly browned. Cool 5 min on baking sheet, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.



Friendship Soup Mix

1/2 c. dried split peas
1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. beef bouillon granules
1/4 c. dried barley
1/2 c. dried lentils
1/4 c. dried minced onions
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1/2 c. macaroni put in a snack-size zip-top bag

Layer the ingredients in order given in a quart-size jar. Put the macaroni on top.

1 jar Friendship Soup Mix
3 quarts water
1 lb. ground beef
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

Remove the package of macaroni and set aside. In a very large Dutch oven or stock pot, brown the ground beef; drain off the fat. Add the water, tomatoes, and soup mix. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 45-60 min. Add reserved macaroni and simmer another 15-20 min or until peas, lentils, barley and noodles are tender.

you can give a cookie mix in a jar you just layer all the dry ingredients in a jar and get a fancy card with the instructions on how to make them.
