There is not one solution that fits every diabetic. Some Type 2's do better if they break up their meals into smaller more frequent portions. This allows the spacing of their carb intake and may reduce spikes. It is well known that smaller and more frequent meals are generally regarded as "better" for reducing spikes in BG's and they may even aid in weightloss.
For some Type 1's, small snacks may be needed to cover their insulin "peaks" if they use the "old" and unpredictable NPH and Regular insulins.
For Type 1's with the pump, particularly young children, then can eat like normal children, i.e. when they are hungry. They may not want to eat 3 large meals.
The "2 hour" rule is a blanket extreme, but my point is that this may work for some.

You know diabetics get their instructions from their own Doctors and sometimes more than one way works.
While you don't consider the answer correct, it might be correct for another person.
Plus the majority of diabetes today is type 2. My Husband is type 2 and we eat small amounts every 2 to 3 hours and it has been working well for about 8 years. His sugar is under control.

I totally agree with you and I constantly tell "participants", that No one here medically qualified. I myself, answer only questions that I Know the Answer to. Who Picks the winning answer. It could have been the person who posted the question. If it said "asker" it was. Other then that, it goes back for the Team to pick the answer, and they choice the one they think is correct. So that's how it works. But in any case, you have a medical problem, you should be seeing a doctor, and that is what I tell them, and you should also. Merry Christmas

I think people sometimes just choose the answer that they wanted to hear or that sounds most logical to them. And if it goes to vote, well then I think it's mainly people voting for their own answer so it's rare that it's actually the best answer. And the correct answer?? Yeah, right....

it's how the system is set up. if the asker of the question does not choose a best answer themselves, answers will automatically give the answer with the most thumbs-up the best answer.
