There is no such thing as a hiatus hernia. You are talking about a hiatal hernia. Large hiatal hernias can cause some of the symptoms you mentioned, but so can other conditions. Linda is correct. You can't be diagnosed properly in here. A workup involves more information than what you can provide this way. You need to see your physician. The symptoms you describe, as well as your recent medical history, warrant a visit to your doctor.

I had my gallbadder removed about 7 years ago at which time I was also told that I had a small hernia, that luckily resolved itself. I was told that the hernia could have been caused by a the stones or one of the side affects associated with the stones.
Talk to your doctor about this, mine kept an eye on it, gave me some medication and after a few weeks rectified itself but it needs to be monitored and the correct action taken (medication, surgery...) needs to be taken. So please go talk to your doctor about it.

I am not sure if they go together, but i have those strange terrible pains all the time. I have been to the ER over them twice. I was told by one nurse it could be a hiatal hernia and by another it could be my gall bladder. I feel your pain though
