Like so many foods, its simply what your system is used to. I live in Mexico and just love to cook Indian style food, my father in law considers a Vindaloo to be mild, tame, but he's a Mexican. I very much doubt he's had a "ring-stinger" in his life. I don't think I have in the years since moving down here. Our digestive systems are accustomed to the chili.
If your Vindaloo causes this then the answer is "yes, its way too hot for your system and no, its not good for you!" As someone else mentioned, too much chili, which you are not used to, can also cause stomach ulcers. There are 20+ wonderful flavors and spices in most Indian curries, they combine to make one of the most delicious styles of cooking on Earth, I fail to see the rational on just loading up on so much red hot chili that one simply burns the ring off one's anus.................

As a general rule Curries are made with various healthy root vegetables and spices. They also make you produce more mucus, which can help shift a cold virus (Or at least make you feel less stuffed up), and makes you sweat which is generally good for the skin.
The quality of the meat, like most takeaways is probably pretty low but they don t take up a huge amount of it, and you can go with better alternatives like prawns or even vegetables if you wanted.

Curcumin, also known as turmeric, this deep yellow spice is though to have numerous beneficial health effects, including protecting against Alzheimer's Disease. In fact, in India, where curcumin is used regularly, the rates of Alzheimer's Disease are much lower than in Western countries. It is one of those ancient culinary traditions that could rapidly become cutting-edge medicine if recent studies continue to provide the back-up.
Apparently, curcumin contains anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and even anti-carcinogenic properties that rival foods such as berries, spinach, garlic, and sweet potatoes. According to scientists, because of its low molecular weight and polar structure, curcumin can penetrate the blood-brain barrier more easily than many other potential Alzheimer's treatments. This is important because it can deliver the anti-inflammatory benefit where AD patients need it most -- the brain.
But curcumin's anti-inflammatory benefits make it useful for all sorts of other conditions as well, not just Alzheimer's: Arthritis, cancer, heart disease, and many other health problems have all been linked to inflammation, and that means curcumin could help alleviate them.
If you like Indian food and have any sort of inflammatory condition, include it in your diet as often as possible. But there's no need to limit the use of curcumin to Indian cooking. You can sprinkle it on meats and fish before grilling or while marinating. You can also purchase curcumin supplements. But beware - be sure that you really like HOT curry before putting a Vindaloo anywhere near your mouth!
