There are a few things that can be tried. Antidepressants may help, as may seizure drugs like gabapentin (Neurontin) and carbamazepine. Some people think certain types of photo-therapy (infrared light) may help too. It is also important to make sure that neuropathy is the source of the pain and not some other condition. You may also want to consider seeing a a pain management specialist.

There are many options to treat neuropathy. In 75% of cases it is possible to eliminate the pain or at least to reduce it to the point that it does interfere with activities. I do not recommend pregabalin (Lyrica) or duloxetine (Cymbalta) as older and less expensive drugs are actually more effective.

I take inositol powder to help combat diabetic neuropathy. 1 teaspoon daily, at night. Warning: coffee inactivates any healing properties of the powder. Hope this helps :)

Doctors have been prescribing Cymbalta, an anti-depressant, to help with neuropathy. I know this, because my mom has it bad, and the doctor put her on it for that reason.

I have neuropathy myself, and since I started taking supplements it's gotten much, much better. I'm not sure if it's any single one, but the combination does the trick. For this problem, I'm on GNC's ultra mega multivitamin, alpha lipoic acid (which slows down nerve deterioration), and amino acids.

Aveeno lotion for dry skin really works well. Or after you take a bath/ shower at night oil your feet ( pay close attention to your heels) with vaseline and put socks on. Sleep with the socks on, continue this for a couple days and that should work. Good luck!!
