At 23 and being a woman it is very unlikely that you have coronary disease bad enough to be causing exertional angina. It is possible you could have something wrong with your heart, however. I do think that if you can reliably reproduce the tightness with activity every time then it is certainly something that warrants further investigation. I could give you a list of four or five heart-related things (that are not heart attack like syndromes) that could affect a young person who is in good shape - with no risk factors for heart disease.

The second thing that comes to mind is the possibility of exertional asthma. You would have all of the symptoms you just described and its a whole lot more likely than a heart condition.

It is important to rule the possibility of a heart condition - a simple echocardiogram could tell you about all that you need to know. A stress echocardiogram might even be better but not absolutely indicated (Outflow tract obstruction may be more obvious with exercise). A pulmonary doctor (lung) can perform pulmonary function tests to evaluate your lungs and your response to treatment.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

The caffeine in coffee and in sports drinks does affect your heart rate a wouldn't recommend you drink anything other than a couple of pints of water before a work out. If it persists i would go to your doctor, you may have a heart murmur. that is only noticeable during exercise.

You really don't need anyone to advise you what to do... because you know the answer yourself. If you weren't worried about these pains you wouldn't be asking the question here. See your GP.

it must be angina (loss of oxygen to the midsection) or coronary heart palpitations led to with the aid of the caffeine. Lay off the crimson bulls and espresso... they make the midsection pump swifter besides, so blended with the troublesome determining its no ask your self your chest hurts.

Even though all the advice on here you have had is good, please still make another appointment with you GP. You will continue to worry until you do. Good luck.
