It can mean a couple of things, none of which are good. First, the only way to tell if you have sugar in your urine is by a urinalysis. They have dipsticks that can tell you exactly how much sugar is in the urine. You need a prescription to buy these dipsticks. You can not tell if there is sugar in the urine by odor, color or taste ( yuck ! )
First, it can mean that your kidneys are failing to filter out the sugar and they are failing. Really bad news. It can mean that you have diabetes and there is so much sugar in your bloodstream because your body isn't metabolizing it with insulin that it is overloading your kidneys and they might end up failing. Double really bad news.
Either way, get yourself to either your general practitioner doctor or an endocrinologist ( a doctor that specializes in the endocrine system ) and get tested.
Good luck.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Well it means that your body is not using your sugar in your body and the body builds up the sugar levels, and is trying to get rid of the extra sugar by urinating it out, you might by going to the bathroom more than normal when your sugar levels are high, i have diabetes and i go through the same thing.

Gestational diabetes affects 3-10% of pregnancies. No specific cause has been identified, but it is believed that the hormones produced during pregnancy reduce a woman's sensitivity to insulin, resulting in high blood sugar levels. Gestational diabetes generally has few symptoms and it is most commonly diagnosed by screening during pregnancy. Diagnostic tests detect high levels of glucose in blood samples. Babies born to mothers with gestational diabetes are at increased risk of complications, primarily growth abnormalities and chemical imbalances such as low blood sugar. Gestational diabetes is a reversible condition and women who have adequate control of glucose levels can effectively decrease the associated risks and give birth to healthy babies. Women with gestational diabetes are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus after pregnancy, while their offspring are prone to developing childhood obesity, with type 2 diabetes later in life. Most patients are treated only with diet modification and moderate exercise but some take anti-diabetic drugs, including insulin.

It does not mean much of anything. Prior to glucometers diabetics checked their urine for glucose (sugar) and ketones. Unfortunately there is no correlation between blood glucose and urine glucose. You may have 4+ glucose in your urine with a blood glucose of 100. You may have a blood glucose of 500 but no glucose in the urine. Once glucometers became available the use of urine glucose rapidly disappeared. When a urine specimen is 'dipped' a variety of things are tested for although most of them have no validity and glucose is one of these. There has been little change in urine dipsticks since their creation. More recently there have been some efforts to produce dipsticks with fewer but more sensitive indicators of disease. An example is the presence of microalbuminuria which is albumin or protein in smaller amounts than the traditional dipstick is able to detect. The presence of microalbuminuria in a diabetic and or a person with hypertension deserves attention. Unfortunately these newer dipsticks are more expensive and until their price drops they will not replace the older 'multi' dipsticks.
