I would NOT take a chance on it.

From the link:
"SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. - Non-meat ingredients of Taco Bell menu items are under close scrutiny by state and federal investigators trying to pinpoint the cause of an E. coli outbreak that has sickened nearly four dozen people in three states.

Taco Bell ordered scallions removed from its 5,800 U.S. restaurants Wednesday after tests by an independent lab found three samples of green onions appeared to have a dangerous strain of the bacterium."

No fast-food restaurant is safe to eat at, but I would recommend that you avoid Taco Bell. Even though they removed their green onions, E Coli can still infect undercooked ground beef and contaminated lettuce. E Coli is the most lethal form of food poisoning. I advise you to eat somewhere else.

I read in the newspaper today that all Taco Bells are no longer using green onions until they are totally satisifed that they are no longer tainted with e coli. I would say that it would make it safe to eat Taco Bell.

The e coli is thought to be from the green onions at Taco Bell, but since the people got sick they have taken green onions off of all the food... so it is safe to eat there....

When you eat fast food or eat out in general, there is always a risk of getting sick. Think of how many people handle your food before you get to it. And then you have other people around you when you eat, who might be sick.

E. coli is naturally occurring in all beef and is present in all humans. It is every where. People can get sick form it anywhere food is prepared, including your own home. Much the same can be said about cockroaches.
