of course everyone thinks pasta when they hear italy, i live in europe and there is so much more to italy than pasta, they have this flatbread called panigacci ,its made over a wood fire and people go crazy for this bread. its very good, also you have to try the wine,cheeses,and desserts...one of my favorite italian desserts is the panna cotta..its a vanilla custard with berry sauce over it. if you plan on going to italy try all the different things there..other than just pasta..though pasta is great getting it straight from italy..but you gotta try the things that people dont really know about. hope this helps

Truffles, polenta and a million different types of pasta. Bistecca alla Fiorentina, which is a very popular steak in the Florence/Tuscany region. Pizza margherita in Napels. Gelato and coffee everywhere.

pasta (especially linguine alla marinara) and pizza. the pizza is very different from that in any other country. it's worth the taste
