If you are ordering a cappuccino or latte, mocha, or americano and you want some EXTRA coffee it is called a extra shot, meaning they add a extra shot of expresso.
When ordering your drink if it is something other than regular coffee or tea...let's say your ordering a Grande (medium) Americano and you want a little bit extra coffee then you say
"Grande American with a extra shot" if you want more just say how many extra shots you want. I recommend not going over 3 shots for venti (large) or else you will be bouncing off walls.
You can also experiment by ordering your usual cappuccino, latte or mocha and if you want you can have the barista add a "shot" of flavor like hazelnut or vanilla. This gives your regular drink some added flavor.
Also don't limit yourself to just Starbucks try mom and pop coffe houses...those are the best...with homemade deserts!

Double shot, triple shot, etc. The extra shot is free if you get a Venti latte (the biggest size), many times the Starbucks person has offered.
They may charge extra for the other drinks, I think you have to ask next time.
Feel free to ask them, they are open to questions. Think about how bored they must get doing the same thing over and over. I would want someone to ask a question just to break up my day.
Some of them do get snooty though.

A mocha is hot chocolate with espresso added to it. Black means no cream. Double mean that you would like 2 shots of espresso in your drink. A 16 ounce drink should have 2 shots in it.
A double tal (or SMALL if you speak English) mocha would mean a 12 ounce drink with two shots of espresso in it.
But honestly your town probably has an independent coffee shop that could really use your support and will have much higher quality coffee than the Wal*Mart of Coffee, Starbucks. The drinks will be better and you will be supporting local culture instead of big business.

if you have a total of 2 shots of espresso in a tall drink it would be a double
if you put an extra shot in a grande it already has two so your adding a third which would be a triple, then you call it a quad for four. if you add a shot to a tall coffee you ask for a solo tall coffee or a red eye. you add two shots to a regular coffee its called a black eye or a double

Eh. i dont think extra anything at starbucks is free.
Double or Triple mean extra espresso shots in your drink...they cost $
Mocha is a type of drink.
I think you might be mistaken.
I know that if you want less coffee in your cup so you can put cream in it...you can say you want it with "room"

I suggest you try "May I have a refill, please?" But I wouldn't know for sure as I've never really been a customer at Starbucks.
