As a type one diabetic, this is something I look for commonly in foods I eat. So, first, if something has carbohydrates in it, it will raise your blood sugar. Protein also raises your blood sugar, but at a much slower rate not requiring insulin if eaten in a moderate amount. For most foods, you can look at the nutrition label to find out sugar content and carbohydrate. As for liquids, if you are not sure if your drink has sugar in it (indicating carbohydrates), simply dip in a urine glucose test strip to see! (learned that tip from my doctor!)

Are you diabetic and wondering what food will raise your blood glucose? If its food, if it has carbs it will create glucose in your body. If your looking for foods that just have that specific sugar becuase your a health nut then avoid anything with sugar. The only thing that doesnt have glucose is fruit which has fructose.

Such as blood or food? For blood, get a glucose meter and test your blood. For food, look at CARBOHYDRATES on the label - you want to limit carbs (which include sugars, or glucose) to some number of grams per meal and per day, and only your doctor and/or nutritionist should share that number with you (it's different for different people).
