A lot of birth defects can be caused. It just depends on what STD. Could cause something as severe as down syndrome.

Gonorrhea can cause blindness. Syphilis causes teeth to look abnormal. Herpes causes blindness.

Mental retardation/disorganized bone growth with syphilis, blindness/conjunctivitis with chlamydia. Herpes encephalitis and death with HSV, need I go on?
