I have no pain or problem; this was an incidental finding (i.e. the Dr. could incidentally make more money) on an MRI of my uuterus. They see "something" on my hipbone. The x-ray was also inconclusive. Should I go ahead with yet another test for no reason?

Hi, an M.R.I. shows more detail than a CT scan..sounds like your M.R.I. was not of your hip...not ordered by an ortho? Am I correct? Also remember that a CT scan emits radiation, so does X-ray's...an M.R.I. does not. I would consult another doctor if you are concerned. Good Luck to you!

Xray uses radiation to take a single view, much like a camera takes a single view. A Cat scan take multiple pictures from different angles, the a computer take the multiple pictures and makes a 3 dimensional image. A MRI uses magnetism to take the picture instead of xrays.

Is it possible to show the MRI results to another specialist in MRI and get his opinion? Anyway, as long as you are without symptoms, I don't think the CT is needed.

I would just to be safe. If again it is inconclusive, maybe think about another doctor and report this one to insurance carrier.
