can men get the shot?
dose it help if you already have hpv?
and after you get the shot can you still give hpv to others?

At this point, there is no HPV vaccine for men. Generally speaking, HPV causes no negative health effects for men, and there isn't even a way to test for HPV in men. The risk of any kind of ill effects, whether overall health or development of cancer, is extremely slim.

However, since men can still pass on the virus, there is still a possibility that a vaccine will be developed to protect their partners. Since the vaccine keeps you from getting the virus, it also keeps you from spreading it.

For women, if they have already been exposed to HPV they may still benefit from the vaccine since there are many kinds of the virus and would still benefit from being vaccinated against other types - especially the four types in the vaccine which show the strongest connection to cervical cancer.
