Well, my friend. At least you are concerned about it. Eggs have a lot of cholesterol. Sausage has a lot of cholesterol. Cheese has a lot of cholesterol. Almost all dairy products have a lot of cholesterol. Watch your salad dressings, they contain bad stuff as well. Eat lots of leafy, green vegetables. Lean meat such as chicken, turkey, but don't fry it, bake or broil and get a can of cooking spray. Oatmeal is excellent in reducing cholesterol. So are Cheerios (don't particularly like but just info). Get yourself a paperback that lists the worst foods for cholesterol. Sometimes, high cholesterol is genetic. I take red yeast rice (in capsule form and over the counter) It works. Good luck. You will get is done. Try to keep your cholesterol under 200.

Your blood cholesterol is a combination of the cholesterol that the body produces itself, and the ones you get from food. Having high blood cholesterol level can not be always attributed to the food you eat. I some cases, it is metabolic. But that does not mean you have to go careless about the food that you eat.

Foods that help lower cholesterol:
1. Foods high in soluble fiber like oats, fruits and vegetables
2. Eating fatty fish 2 to 3 times a week (salmon, tuna, mackerel)
3. Low fat proteins like chicken without skin instead of pork
4. Use cooking oil made of good fats like canola and olive oil

Foods to avoid:
1. Foods rich in saturated fats (fats in meat like bacon, burgers)
2. Foods rich in trans fats (processed foods like french fries and popcorn)
3. Limit consumption of squid, oyster, shrimp, crab to once a week.
4. Limit consumption of egg to twice or thrice a week.
