Most anything they ask but the blood tests will reveal only what they ask. Thus is a glucose (sugar) test was ordered you will not find out what your cholesterol is. Most commonly physicians order a 'panel' which includes from a few to a few dozen tests. Many disorders and diseases (including diabetes) are often diagnosed 'accidentally' in a seemingly healthy person who had the blood work done for some other reason.

Anything that the doctor requests. Blood work contains what they need to help diagnose any problem you may have. Ask why they are drawing the blood and they will be happy to tell you. Also, ask for explanation from the doctor or lab tech.

Lots of stuff, but it really depends on what their looking for. The blood is specifically drawn to test for specific things, so it depends on the test your doctor requested. He could be checking anything from your cholesterol to checking to see if your liver is functioning properly. Many things can be checked with the blood, your triglyeride level, whether you're pregnant, have AIDS, if your white count is high indicating an infection, to your kidney and liver function, to even your blood type, how much iron you have, if you have any deficiencies, if you're diabetic, the list is endless.
