it depends what it smells like and if you have any other symptoms. if it smells like wet bread, looks like cottage cheese, and you want to scratch it with sand paper its a simple yeast infection. a fish like odor indicates vaginosis and is usually treated by flagyl, a prescribed antibiotic. sometimes, after your period traces of blood remain for a few days, and the bacteria this blood attracts makes a sweet pungent smell. if this is the problem it will resolve on its own. call your dr and describe your symptoms to the nurse- they will instruct you what to do further.

This could be the start of a yeast infection since they are commonly passed from a male that has slept with a female that had one then slept with someone else. Or it could be a bacterial infection in that case the doc will give you flagil to clear it up..it's an atibiotic. ....Go to the doc if it is something serious it could do irreversible damage....and please use protection no matter how well you know the person.....

You sound like you have bacterial vaginanosis. It's pretty common and it's most likely from the change of ph in your system. You can read up on it on like a webMD type site. Some women are more prone to it than others. Like pregnant women (yes, I got it when I was pregnant). It's something that can go away on it's own and then it flares back up, so go to your doctor. Don't worry they have seen worse. Good luck!

If it has an odor that means you need to see the doc. Since the sex was unprotected you may want to ask the doc to check for any STD's when you see him.
