I usually order the things I've never seen before on a menu.
I've been making my own for years and have a great Asain food store (Mitsua) near my home to get sushi grade fish (real sushi grade fish) easily.
take a class in sushi prep and save big bucks!!!

It's true: Sashimi is better. They're less pretty, but I just love the sight of all those multi-colored fish and seafood chunks sitting on a tall bed of vinegar rice.
If I had to have a sushi roll-up thing I would get shrimp, firecrackers, or salmon roe. Don't forget to put some wasabi paste in the soy sauce dish!

Anything spicy ... I love wasabi topped rolls. Also, the ones with shrimp tempura are good For sushi I like the salmon, tuna, yellowtail and snapper. I also love the seaweed salad, kani salad and tuna tataki

i love california rolls, and vegetable rolls, especially avocado rolls. (p.s. i'm a vegetarian)
i also like miso soup.
but generally speaking, as a vegetarian i don't have much options when it comes to sushi. i'm not a big fan of tofu either

I order California rolls. It's rice, seaweed, crab meat, cucumber, and avocado. I'm too much of a wimp to eat anything that isn't cooked.

I prefer sashimi -- typically salmon, tuna, yellow tail. I am not big on any of the rolls, can't stand the seaweed taste.
