my friend was diagnosed with genital warts, and now is getting a blistery sore with a red rash around it above his private area is it a symptom of genital warts or should he be worried of another std aswell..

The red rash area is not associated with genital warts. Sounds like an ingrown hair, a new std possibly but most definitely NOT warts. Blisters generally mean herpes.

By the way you describe the new area it sounds like herpes. Your friend should get it checked out....they have to culture it to make sure it is herpes. To my knowledge warts are not blistery. I am a nurse and have seen many cases of both. I would definitely get it checked out. Good luck .....

sounds like the warts but i would go and get tested to make sure, genital warts never go away, and htey are infectious so tell him to make sure he tell s any future partner and is careful to not pass it on to anyone else!

Your friend need to see a doctor. STDs can lead to much more serious and life threatening illnesses.

Yes. but if he has already went to the doctor to get checked on they should have told him if he had any other stds or not.

Tell your friend to go see a doctor right away. there are plenty of free clinics set up for that type of situation. And they are very confidental
