Most GPs are just that. They do not have specific knowledge about many conditions unless they specialise. What your GP doesn't know would scare you. They know a little about most things. So do not be surprised if they get it wrong from time to time.

I have angina but have never heard the sort you have mentioned.
Surely you do not mean a GP as it is a GP's place to refer a patient for diagnosing. I think that most GP's in the UK do an excellent job. It's courses for horses dear.
Anyway it sounds like a variant of CJD, and not angina!
