I think most food is better than English food, with the possible exception of Aero bars and Beef Wellington.

English having bad food is an old stereotype, it is no longer the case.
There was a concerted effort about 15 years ago to improve British food. And what that actually meant is having better restaurants and improve cooking.
Over the last 15 years there has been an explosion of cooking programs on TV and fancy restaurants around the country.
English food is much better as a result.
Is it "better" than American food? Difficult to say, I think if your talking "fine" cuisine then yes, if your talking portions then no. In fact, I think (apart from the size of the portions) our food is probably of a comparable quality.

I wouldn't really say that one is better than the other. They're both very good and they're very similiar. When I went to engIand I didn't really eat anything extremely different from what I eat in America. I would have to say the main difference between is that American Food has a bit more influence from other cultures around the world.

I guess some English dishes are good... but American food is pretty good. Many English foods are associated with fat, but so are American foods, and I don't favor eating lots of fat. Personally, I think the best cuisine is Italian! MMM!!!!!!!!! I just love manicotti amd tiramisu!!

HELL NO!!! i will agree some things are to die for like Hersey bars! but the sugar content is to high in most American food!
I will admit I'm a pancake junkie!!!
You cant beat a good beef dinner!! < end of debate!!
The packaging of American is silly.. cant stand the marketing!!
Why do you think Gordon Ramsey have gone over sea's??? to help!!!!!
I'm not saying its not good! but people have different tastes!

As long as it's organic (no chemical sprays or additives), fresh, lightly cooked and not smothered in sauces or salt and pepper, food anywhere is good!
I've eaten both good and bad meals in both England and the United States.
One thing is for sure: FAST FOOD (hamburgers, fried chicken, etc.) anywhere is HORRIBLE!

I feel there is always something in all cultures that you can come to enjoy..
There was an old comic "Asteriks and Obelix" where they poked fun of english food.. The only flavoring they used was "water"... maybe they went crazy and used a dash of pepper... lol
I myself live with spices.. Indian, Mexican, Italian, and Arab spices.. The hotter the better for me.. I have to spice up all my food..

I would have agreed years ago, as English was heavy fare, but now, unless you are cooking with love from scratch, we have far too much fat foods, take outs, and drive throughs, including our grocery store, department store take outs....now, I would suspect we are in the same boat...
