Just about every person's Oxygen level drops slightly as they fall asleep. Usually between 96-98% It then levels out and should be at least 97-100% after that without any severe drops, which is a sign of sleep apnea. I am a nurse at work every night monitoring people on O2 monitors.

Not as a general rule. Some people have sleep apnea, where the actually stop breathing for short periods of time and during that time their oxygen level can be less than normal....but not if you're just sleepy....as long as you're breathing!

No your oxygen levels should remain the same. If you oxygen levels are remarkably lower when sleeping it indicates a problem most likely sleep apnea or some other respiratory problem.
