I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

I agree with everything oracle said but I would add: Don't allow pets to sleep with you in your bed. Keep dust in your house under control, but DON'T use spray-type dust control (Endust, Pledge, etc) as they could make your problem worse. Definitely do not use Windex, it is VERY irritating to the bronchial tubes and lungs. Dry Swiffer cloths work great for dusting. I had to rip up all the old wall-wall carpeting and throw it away and install hardwood floors in my house. I had no idea there was so much crap under the old carpets. Ever since I did all the above, and many of the things suggested by oracle, I have been much better and have gone through 3 winters now without a upper respiratory infection that lasted for 2 months.

Unfortunately having these lung problems esp bronchitis more than likely has weakened your lungs. The upper respiratory infecion begins the process for often followed by bronchitis. You are fortunate that you are not also getting pneumonia for it can follow bronchitis. Its absolutely imperative if you aren't already that you get a yearly flu shot for your lung/respiratory history makes you very susceptibe and also a Pneumonia shot, every 5 years. Woildn't think you do but just in case do not smoke and limit your exposure to secondhand smoke-if someone is NOT considerate and smokes around you INSIST that they do not for very harmful to you-will further weaken your already weakened respiratory system. and its also known to cause cancer. You must also avoid any factors that pollute or aggravate your lungs, respiratory system so have clean air in your home-get a IONIC Clean Air Machine preferably one that also destroys bacteria, invest in a vacuum cleaner that is efficient in not swirling dust into the air as you vacuum. Also avoid dry air so get a humidifier-can be bought cheaply at Walgreen,Walmart,Target and so on. Also if you live in a house get the ducts cleaned, deodorized and important-sanitized-I had to have it done for could not stop coughing but stopped when clean. Air duct cleaning also means furnace has to cleaned-they do not tell all upfront so ask alll that has to be done.Avoid harsh chemical cleaners and so forh. Also take a multivintamin daily for now is the time to build up immune system also take additional Vit C with Bioflavenoids as soon as symptons begin-the first day 500mg every hour-then 2 per day am and pm until you get better. You need to also concentrate on your diet-dark grreeen leafy vegetables, fruits esp berry fruits and there is a new fruit Acacia of which you can buy the Juice-around $6.00 but veary good to build up your immune system. you may akso invest in a good book on how to build yourself up to avoid getting ill from these conditions.Am sure your local health food store has a variety but do avoid getting talked into taking a bunch of stuff for they as any store will try to sell their products. www.rwood.com tells of yogurt, kefir and other fermented foods that contain enzymes that add strength to your body's ability to fight off infection. Yofurt is good but must be the kind that has all the bacteriums-the good kind, Kefir can be found at Kroger in different flavors is even better than yogurt -also tastes good, sauerkraut is also good anyway familiarize yourself with all the things that can help you for foods can be important allies if we know which ones. Good Luck

This type of thing is not something you should have to "grow out of." Something has to be causing it, and constant medication isn't going to help you, love.
I and my family have had tremendous success with every ailment I've had over the past four years by seeing a naturopath, including severe post-natal depression, eczema, gastro, recurrent chest infections, etc etc. Unlike doctors, who just treat the symptoms, natural medicine practitioners will go after the cause. They will also help you boost your immune system, find any other problems you may have, the list goes on.
Go get yourself seen to, and good luck :)

It could be asthma. The steroids and inhalers help short term, but for long-term management there are medications you can take everyday to keep it under control. You should see a doctor and see about getting evaluated for asthma and see if there are any long-term medications (singulair, advair, pulmocort are some) you can take. They've helped me a lot; I still have to use an inhaler occasionally, but I don't get URIs/bronchitis nearly as much as I used to! Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is be sure to keep your immune system healthy by taking a good multivitamin daily and a good antioxidant supplement daily. You will also want to consider getting rid of the toxic chemical cleaners you use to clean your house/apartment with and replace them with natural cleaners as the toxic cleaners can make problems worse. Also be sure you use a humidifer to keep the air moist in your home. Consider adding a couple of drops of tea tree oil to the water too. Work on getting your immune system healthy and getting rid of the toxic cleaning products and that should be a big help.

I am not sure what is wrong in your case but I would like to suggest a simple remedy that may take 30 minutes everyday but will make you feel much better.

Try some "Pranayam" (the breathing exercises in Yoga). You may try finding some good Videos or books or join some Yoga class for a short period (where they teach Pranayam). I have used it and it has provided me relief and a sense of well-being (I used to suffer from allergies every year).

Bronchitis, pneumonia, coughing, colds, and respiratory distress etc., was my life's story!! I'm 77 now and last year a pulmonary specialist gave me the KEY to prevent all that!!! I ended up in the hospital last year for 12 days and was Dx'd with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and GERD (a reflux of gastric acids that "back-washed" up my esophogus and leaked into my lungs at night! After they cleared up the infection, vacummed out my lungs! of the pflegm sp?--guck--and Prednisone and Protonix (which caused me to lose my memory--temporarily until they took me off it), I got well. I take antacid tablets, recommended, even though I never ever felt "heartburn"--It's called "silent reflux". But my pulmonary specialist gave me the KEY for PREVENTION!!! He told me to get a cinder block and put it under the head of my bed frame!! This prevents the reflux of gastric acids "back-washing" up my esophogus at night while I sleep! I found that 4"'s--the cinder block laying on its side--worked PERFECTLY for me!! It's HEAVENLY to sleep and BREATE well!!!
