Saliva is 98% water and it is secreted from submandibular, sublingual, and parotid glands which are located near on temporal sides of ur face near ur jaws. Saliva contains very important substances such as electrolytes, antibacterial compounds, and food-digesting enzymes. However don't mix up saliva and phlegm, those two are different substances secreted by your body. Phlegm is totally natural and can be secreted even when your body is in perfect health condition. It depends on type of your disease and how bad it is. After you blow your nose you obviously empty it from all mucus and phlegm that was secreted. It is the way the body gets rid of the waste that was produced during body's battle against infection. It can take from 2min. to 15min. for your nose to be completely obstructed with the mucus. Try to be more detailed with your questions so you could get more accurate answers. Best of luck and stay healthy! Drink hot tea with honey and fruit preserves. MIght not be the best taste for you but worked a 1001 times for me.
