Hi everyone, I have been a veggie pretty much my entire life. I am 29 and as long as I can remember I have hated meat, I hate the taste, the look, the smell, and the texture. As I have gotten older and educated myself, I hate it for other reasons. I love all animals way to much to eat them and factory farming saddens me beyond belief. My husband eats meat and is fine with me being a veggie and he loves the food I cook for him. My doctor told me that being pregnant and being a vegatarian is perfectly healthy as long as I eat properly which has never been as issue with me, and she actually said it is probably more healthy for the baby and myself because I am not ingesting all that fat. My question is how come people are so rude and judgemental on here about being a vegetarian in general but being a pregnant one just makes it worse?

Congrats on being vegetarian most of your life. That is quite a commitment, and now that you a pregnant, a great choice for your baby. It is sad that people would judge or make fun of you just because of your choice of food. You are not doing anything to hurt anyone else, or your baby, so if you don't wanna eat meat, go for it.

Have a great pregnancy, and a Happy Holiday Season!!!

The world is made up of rude judgemental people it doesnt make it right though, I really think Rudeness comes from ignorance. It sounds to me like you are going to make a wonderful mom!! Dont worry about what others think and just enjoy your pregnancy, Follow your doctors orders and your heart and you are going to have a happy healthy bundle of joy!!

Good Luck in your pregnancy and wish you well with your new bundle!

Because most people believe you need meat for the protein so your baby will get enough nutrients. I myself am a proud meat eater, rawr, but if you wanna be a vegetarian, then good for you. As long as you listen to your doctor, then you should be fine!

Well, it is human nature, do not let it bother you. Why does it bother you that others are judgemental? Let it go like rain off the roof. Perhaps you should consider going to a Buddhist temple, planty of people there share your feelings.

Because they hate to have to think too much about what they eat. Factory farming should be abolished.
