Nope, chronic bronchitis is one of 3 main diseases that make up the acronym COPD, cronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The other 2 being asthma, and emphysema. It is the chronic production of sputum over a long period of time and is diagnosed by chest x-ray and the presence of a chronic, productive cough over so many months. It does however put you at increased risk for pneumonia.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

NO!
I had chronic bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia through the years, etc., and was Dx'd with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease) and GERD (? the reflux of gastric acid up my esophogus esp at night and which leaked into my lungs). After 12 days in hospital last year; vacummed out lungs of old pfleghm sp? (guck); Prednisone and Protonix (which caused me to lose my memory--temporarily until they took me off it), my pulmonologist gave me the KEY to PREVENTION! He told me to get a cinder block, put it under the head of my bed and sleep on that incline to prevent the reflux! I found that only 4"--the block laying down--under my bed frame worked PERFECTLY!! no more constant coughing, clearing my throat, colds, bronchitis--NOTHING but GREAT BREATHING!!!

Good Luck!!

Nope my daughters home health nurse has it on occasion flare up and her dr told her it was NOT contagious. I am sure he would have told her to be careful considering my daughter can not be around sick people, but he said she was fine
