I've been a vegetarian for over four years now and thought that I'd like to try tofurky next year for Thanksgiving. I'm quite accustomed to substitute meat products so I'm not under any delusions that it tastes just like turkey. But I was wondering if it's really good or just okay. I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that tastes awful.

Well, my family and I didn't care for it. I do like the tofurky slices for sandwiches but the one they put out in the shape of a turkey doesn't taste too good to me.

We prefer Quorn loaf for the holidays

Wishing you all the best. :)

OMG - Tofurkey is the BEST vegi product I've found. The "turkey" with stuffing & giblet gravy is really good, but by far the best is the luncheone "meat" and #1 best is the "sausages" (either the Beer Brats or the Sun Dried Tomato). You can cut them up & put them in omelettes, pastas, etc or just put them on the grill & eat like a "hot dog".
I've tried all the different products, and I will only buy Tofurkey ones.
They even have breakfast links & hot dogs now!

The Tofurky Italian Sausages and Tofurky Jerky are great. I normally am not into meat substitues but these products dont have a fleshy flavor. The sausage is absolutely wonderful in stir frys. One hint - cook the sausage a bit before adding the vegetables in your wok.
