Is wearing glasses better than wearing contacts? Can they really make your sight worse?

It's exactly the same. It all depends on which you prefer because feels more comfortable. I've used both for 15 years. If you work all day long with a computer you may prefer glasses though, because lenses may irritate your eyes. Lenses are an almost must if you exercise or swim. If you are in a hurry or wake up late at nightfor something, probably grabbing your glasses will work better that puting on your lenses. Depending on your mood, you may use your lenses at night if you wanna see prettier. As well, your lenses (if chosen appropriately) may make you see interesting.

If you are allergic to foreign objects in your eyes, wear glasses. Otherwise, if you keep your contacts clean, you are okay. If you need glasses and your vision is near sighted, your eyes will usually get worse anyway. Some people like to hold off wearing glasses until they can't pass the driving test. Then, get glasses. Otherwise, just decide if you need them or not. If you know what your vision is without glasses, it would be more helpful to enter that information.

It is not that wearing glasses or contacts make your sight worse, (They improve your sight) it is just that your eyes become more dependent on them. Consult with your optometrist or ophthalmologist before deciding on either way.

Good luck and best wishes.

There is really no difference in glasses over contacts when it comes to them being detrimental to your eyes. In the regard, neither do damage to your eyes.

As to which is better, this is personel preference. I am current in glasses but would prefere contacts. However, it seems that contacts irritate my eyes (or the solution they are in) because of my allegries.

Hope this helps!

I think it is personal pref..............I wear both, mostly I wear my contacts as it is more comfortable. I do find my sight better with my contacts, but maybe it is due to the increased peripheral vision as my "specs" are kinda on the small side.

No your sight will deteriorate which ever you use, if you wear lens just remember to take care of them, clean them and NEVER use tap water, but at least they don't steam up when you come in from the cold
