Causes of high BP: Tension, stress, obesity, angry nature, non-veg food, smoking, alcohol, drugs, lack of rest and sleep, unhappy relationships, overwork, eating fatty food (which creates plaques in the arteries and makes it difficult for blood to pass thus having the same effect as a hose carrying water which has been squeezed). Remedy: Eat vegetarian food, lessen fatty food, junk food, no smoking (which is the biggest culprit), no alcohol. Above all, be a positive person - a happy person. If you follow these, then you don't need any medicine to reduce BP. It automatically comes down.

By the way, have a raw onion and 2 or 3 sections of garlic every day after food, which clears existing choleserol in the arteries thus paving the way for smooth circulation of blood.

Some people are 'salt sensitive' and reducing salt in these individuals will reduce blood pressure and as we do not require salt (here and below by do not require I mean that any reasonable diet has enough of these substances) I recommend that everyone avoid salt a suggestion that I follow myself. Other than this what you eat in and of itself has no direct effect on blood pressure although it is true that we do not require glucose, fat, and cholesterol and these should be avoided also and again I follow this advice as well. These substances may have an indirect effect on blood pressure as they may affect the function and structure of arteries. Do not forget that exercise is a good idea and this is the area in which I do not follow my own advice and I have no excuse other than laziness.

Hello there, first I´d like to make something clear to you, the info I´m about to give you is not meant to substitute any madication you might be taking ok? Well, I live in Brazil, and I´ve once read on a Health oriented publication that the dried and finely powdered passion fruit shell, I mean just that white thick part (not the seeds nor the yellow part, just the white one) would decrease bood preasure if it were mixed with the meals and eaten on a daily basis. The prescription was of about one tablespoon per meal. Well I think that since it´s a very common fruit, and after all it´s just a fruit, it might worth giving it a try. After a week check your blood pressure rates to see how it went. Oh, just use your oven on a low temperature to dry the whites of the passion fruits shell ok? I hope it helps. Regards, Gabriel.

Causes of Hypertension.
Age. Over time, the number of collagen fibers in artery and arteriole walls increases, making blood vessels stiffer. With the reduced elasticity comes a smaller cross-sectional area in systole, and so a raised mean arterial blood pressure.
High salt intake
Sedentary lifestyle
Tobacco smoking
Alcoholism
High levels of saturated fat in the diet
Obesity - In obese subjects, losing a kilogram of mass generally reduces blood pressure by 2 mmHg.
Stress
Low birth weight
Diabetes mellitus
Various genetic causes
Occupational, aircraft and roadway noise exposure
You should eliminate the causes for hypertension.
Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet. This kind of diet includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish (not canned in oil), vegetables, poultry, egg whites, and polyunsaturated oils and margarines (corn, safflower, canola, and soybean oils). Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, lard, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.
Please see the web pages for more details on Hypertension.

Eat a lot of fresh garlic (cooked in dishes) and avoid pork completely. Also stay away from Black Licorice. Cut out a lot of transfats out of your diet to help you loose a little weight and that should help with the hypertension too.
