Yes it seems to be a panic attack, We don't know why they excist but they do. It comes from a slight tic in your flight fight response portion of your brain. Try breathing excersizes, making sure you are breathing deep breathes in to the diaphram. If the symptoms continue, see a doctor, you may want to be on paxil, which worked for me, or any of the others that are out there. Remember, your not dying when this happens, your heart rate will increase because you are nervous, your hands and feet may get numb, this is your body sending the warm blood to your important organs. Most anxiety attacks only last 20-30 minutes.

Sounds like it. I have them also. The first time it happened I was driving. Had to call an ambulance. I got so scared and so worked up that I hyperventilated....my lips went numb and i felt like I wasnt getting enough oxygen. I am now on zoloft and I have a prescription for xanax that I only take if I have a bad attack. The zoloft controls it very well and I very rarely need to take a xanax. Panic attacks are scary and they will wear you out physically and mentally....no need to suffer though, there are plenty of drugs that are safe that can help you....see your doctor!!!

i think so. I suffer from this type of thing regularly. My symptoms are the same but i get swirling knots & butterflies in my stomach like i'm exaggeratedly nervous about something that i don't know what it is. I also tend to lose concentration like when someone is talking directly to my face, i see their mouth move & hear the words only through a kinda muffled screen & none of it sinks in and i also get loss of vision appearing as a white light at the peripherals of my vision. So far just to control it when its happening, i just sit & breathe in out in out in long deep breaths & tell myself "it's ok, you just having a panic attack" & try to embrace it and wait for it to subside, but on average the nervousness & butterflies take about 2-3 hrs to subside. I have no idea what to do to help it. Tho i do take st.johns wort which has greatly improved my moods so as to at least lessen frequency of these attacks. good luck.

Yes and it can wipe you out afterwards. Was there something that triggered it to happen?
