Boca Burgers are a popular veggie choice. If you fix your burger with things like ketchup and mustard, then they are quite good. But..... if you try to eat it plain just the patty and bun, then I have to agree with you. I would also like to point out, if they get over cooked, or have been thawed out for too many days, they can get kind of yucky feeling in their texture.

Try eating it like you would a real burger. Put some cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, or anything else you like on your burgers. In my opinion, Boca burgers taste better than veggie burgers but it all depends on your taste. For some people, even the sight of a veggie burger is enough to make you puke. If you decided that you just can't eat it, eat something else, such as tofu, so that you still get the protein your body needs.

there are different varieties, some are better than others. I hate the boca burgers and the soy-based burgers, but the mushroom or bean based ones are pretty good. Don't eat one expecting it to be the same a beef, its never gonna happen. But I can compare a good veggie burger to a falafel patty!

You really need to be open minded. In all honestly there are quite a few vegetarian burgers in need of a makeover, but there are several delicious varieties. Experiment with different brands, and I'm sure you'll settle on one.

I had the same experience. I just can't bring myself to eat anything that resembles meat, not that I feel guilty, just since becoming a vegitarian, i've lost my appetite for meat, A fake burger just isn't appealing, i'd rather have a salad. there's plenty of other options.:)

Boca makes horrid "Fake" meat try Morning Star Farms products. They are much more tasty.
Also link below has other "Fake" meats that are really good.
Just don't think of them as real meat substitutes, think of them as a totally different food.

try different brands... but also it's hard when you grew up on meat to switch over to veggie meats. My husband is a meat eater and he won't try the stuff. I, on the other hand grew up on all kinds of veggie meat and I just love them all. I hate meat and think that's gross. ....so go figure....
