I went to the doctor to get checked for a urinary tract infection since I urinate frequently (the only symptom I have) and my urinanalysis for uti bacteria was negative and he checked my sugar-blood level for diabetes and that was negative....I am a 24 y.o. male and just frequently urinate, and usually more when I'm doing something physically active. What can this also be? thanx

If you think there's a possibility that your prostate is to blame, try taking Saw Palmetto extract capsules for 30 days and see if you get some relief. (It won't hurt you.) Also many formulas out there containing Lycopene (from tomato seeds), Pygeum and other helpful herbs & vitamins to reduce swelling in prostate caused by hormonal imbalance.

Vitex (vitex agnus castus, aka chaste tree berry) is excellent to help the body balance hormone levels. Safe for men and women, even teens. Available in liquid extract or capsules, at your health food store.

Cut back on all meat and poultry because these are fed hormones, unless organically grown. Substitute organic beef & poultry, natural buffalo, wild-harvested venison. Avoid food heated or cooked in plastic as studies have shown these affect natural hormones. Avoid marijuana.

Any chance you have underactive thyroid gland? This can also affect hormones. If you have chronically cold hands and feet, dry skin, trouble contolling your weight, this might bear checking out.

One other possibility: sometimes when we have a UTI, we drink lots of water & maybe even cranberry juice, trying to alleviate it. By the time we get to the doctor, the bacteria is so diluted it doesn't show up as significant. Get off soda pop and other sugary drinks.

Might want to post your question in Men's Health also.

It may simply be too much caffeine or over active bladder. Ask your doctor about this, there is a medication you can take to relieve your bladder spasms if that is what is causing the frequent urination.
If your prostate is enlarged, try a natural supplement that will help shrink it. But again, first talk to your doctor about it. It is called SAW PALMETTO. It can be found in any store that has a vitamin section....
