Are you thinking of Malaria, formerly called ague or marsh fever in English, which is the disease that is caused by organisms called trypanosomes, which are spread by the tsetse fly?

How about: Marche à petits pas? or Démarche à petits pas? an illness close related to Parkinson's decease. An extrapyrimidal illness which results that an elderly person walks with small steps. That's what I could think of right now.
