Chocolate Dessert Bowls
Serving Size : 8

I thought this simple recipe would make a lovely prsentation for a dinner-party dessert, to fill with ice-cream, mousse, chocolate covered strawberries - or any cool yummy treat you like. (No hot fudge sauce, as it might melt the chocolate bowl.) How about filling the chocolate bowls with coffee ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate curls -- or a combination of strawberries dipped in milk (dark) and white chocolate.

10 ounces dark (white or milk) chocolate, finely chopped
8 small balloons
parchment paper

Blow up the balloons to about 4-5 inches around. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Put 1/2 of the chocolate in a double boiler and heat until completely melted, stirring while melting. Remove from the heat & add the remaining chocolate & stir until it is all melted.

Spoon 1 tsp of the chocolate onto the parchment paper. This will make the base for the bowl. Dip a balloon into the bowl of melted chocolate to cover about 1/3 of the bottom of the balloon. Place the balloon on the chocolate base. Continue with each balloon, creating a base and a bowl. Put the pan in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

When cool, pinch the balloon just under the knot and cut a small hole to slowly release the air. When releasing the air from the balloons, do it slowly so the bowls don't crack. Once the balloon is flat, carefully remove it from the chocolate bowl. If you need to patch small holes or cracks, spoon some leftover melted chocolate into the spot. Return the bowls to the refrigerator until ready to serve.

A milk and dark chocolate fondue! With fruits, graham crackers, marshmallows, everything!
Or you can make chocolate pops, pour cooled melted milk chocolate into gingerbread molds (since it's Christmas time) and place some gumdrops or M&M's for buttons and eyes. Then place a stick in each so once it becomes solid after you place them in the fridge or freezer for like a day or so, it becomes a pop! Some special materials are needed to make this though.
You can also buy berries, nice, fresh, and big ones, and cover them in milk and white chocolate then freeze them. Once frozen just pop them in your mouth, they're awesome!

well im not that expierienced in cakes (just know the old christmas pud and stuff), but i think i can help you with other christmas foods. i live in spain, and here there is a veeery nice thing called turrón, which is this kind of tablet (like a chocolate one) which is very sweet and has almonds in it. its white, for more information, google it. also in spain, we have what is called a "Roscón de Reyes". It's for the Spanish celebration of the Three Kings, and it's like a round croissanty thing with a hole in the middle (its shaped like a ring) and it has sugar and thin almonds on top. Also, it's tradition to have a "sorpresa" hidden inside the roscón, which tends to be a small figurine. whoever finds the sorpresa has to buy the roscón de reyes next year. sorry i can't think of anymore right now, but good luck!!

Buy a chocolate fountain.. and place around it little pieces of Banana, shortcake, brownies, strawberries, cheesecake and whatever else you can think of. Then place some skewers (what you use to dip your food in the chocolate) and use those to dip and enjoy!

It's unbelievable and you can find a chocolate fountain at target or another store like that :) Yummy, now I am hungry!

A number of beef stews contain chocolate. Its an interesting way to add a little something extra to a savory dish.
