You may have the brown discharge because you were spotting before your period, but do not take a chance.
See a doctor and have an examination. Doctors can be trusted to not say anything about you to anyone without your permission. Just take care of yourself by seeing a doctor who can.

Dried blood is brown. Spotting blood or brown discharge can occur during mid-cycle. As you mentioned your period is not due for 2 weeks, this probably doesn't mean much. If however, this were to happen during the time of your period and without your usual flow--and you ahve had unprotected sex--you may be pregnant. UPDATE: What you have sounds like Metrorrhagia, which means light bleeding during menstrual periods. Have you experienced any cramping? If so, an ectopic pregnancy may be at hand. There's no way to know for sure until you see a doctor and find the underlying cause.

There are several things that can cause a light brown discharge. The color is due to old blood and blood pigment.
Implantation of a fertilized egg can cause a light brown discharge, so can ovulation, a tear in your cervix and other non-STD related issues. HPV, Chlamydia, chronic yeast infections, and Herpes can also cause this type of discharge.
Time to see a gynecologist or your doctor.

Its probably pre-period discharge with some early uterin lining coming before your period. But, if you are having unprotected sex you should go and have a Well Woman exam at Planned Parenthood or at the ob-gyn and just get your regular yearly exam to make sure you're OK and don't have cancer or STD or pregnancy. You're probably just fine. But all sexually active women should have a yearly exam. Good luck!

There are a bunch of them that cause discharges of many colors. Go to your local clinic and get yourself cultured. You'll get some antibiotics and the results in a day or two by phone.

An undiagnosed one. Tests will tell you what it is, and condom use will prevent any more mishaps. Be sure and let your partner know so he can get treated too.
