it's easily available in india, but if you stay abroad, go to an indian store.
you could make paneer at home, by boling milk, the squeezing lime juice in it, and strain overnight in a muslin cloth. when all the water is drained out, the remaining stuff is paneer !

Actually, it's really easy to make--I don't have a recipe on hand, but if you do a search for one, it's basically boiled whole milk curdled using vinegar. Then take the curds (solids) and dry them in a sack made of cheesecloth. Very easy to do, and very tasty.
