Hunting an animal is alot nicer, then what your local mcdonalds does, I think a cow would rather be shot then thrown into a wood chipper and made into a hamburger patty coming from a industrial factory.

I hunt. I enjoy my time in the outdoors and I enjoy eating meat that hasn't been pumped full of garbage before slaughter then sold at inflated prices to pay the middle man while the farmer gets next to nothing. Organic meat is also sold at inflated prices.
Liberals want to waste money controlling "problem" animal populations with birth control and sterilization measures. Both ways are hit and miss and cost huge amounts of time, resources, and money. The sale of hunting licenses actually helps pay to improve wildlife areas and support the government offices that manage the resources, not to mention the taxes that are levied against the ammunition. The money made from the sale of duck stamps (at least in my home state) goes to improve and reclaim wetlands, which benefits hundreds of other species, not just ducks.
I do not believe in trophy hunting. It's wasteful. That's my only problem with your question. It has never mattered to me the number of points a buck had, as long as I was careful to leave the young bucks and the older, breeder bucks. I never shot more than 2 in a year because that was all the meat my family could eat in a year.
I don't believe in "kill and leave" hunting for the same reason. I grew up with the rule that if you point a lethal weapon at something, you had better intend to kill it and if you do kill it, you will eat it, no exceptions (My brother was actually made to eat a crow he had shot. I do believe it was a good lesson learned). I think if every parent who hunted had raised their sons and daughters with the same values and respect for wildlife, there would be fewer problems. I raising my daughter with the same rules.
So, no, I don't believe there is anything wrong with hunting, as long as it is done with respect to the wildlife that it impacts.

Nothing at all; I think it is wasteful when people let the animal go to waste, but that doesn't make me think that the hunting itself is wrong, just the leaving it to go to waste part. Neither do I have any problem with hunting for sport, as opposed to necessity.

Nothing, as long as you don't shoot the animal and leave it to die. That's when hunting is wrong. I hate hunters who would do that, but thankfully in the USA, that practice is illegal. My Uncle Joe and my cousin Brian are both devoted deer-hunters; they hunt for the meat because Brian's uncle really needs it to feed his family. My dad hunts deer to feed less fortunate families who would most likely starve during the winter. So, there isn't anything wrong with hunting. It's a great way to keep the deer population down and to feed people who really need it.

Hunting is a stupid redneck waste of time. We live in a society where meat can be purchased much more easily and cheaply than it can be hunted. Hunters are people who have an inferiority complex and need to shoot something. There is no sport in hunting, you are basically cheating by using a gun. Even a bow and arrow is cheating. If you want to kill an animal you should do it with a stick and/or a knife and nothing else. Of course, if that were the case, all the rednecks would stop hunting, because they're mostly wussy rednecks who are too scared to kill something up close.
If you want to go outdoors and spend lots of time in the woods and hike, then do just that. If you want to stalk an animal and "shoot" it, try doing so with a camera, if you're only doing it for the enjoyment of being outside, etc.
As for your bullsh#t remark that you do it because the animal would prefer to be shot than slaughtered in our inhumane slaughterhouses, that's a crock. If you care how an animal is slaughtered, you can easily buy meat today that is slaughtered humanely and not in a slaughterhouse. There are organic farms and ranches that raise and slaughter animals humanely. Also, there is Kosher and Halal meat in which the animal must be slaughtered in a much more humane way than in any slaughterhouse.
Hunting is about as stupid and as much a waste of time as NASCAR.

Nothing. Except you probably posted this in the wrong category. These people don't eat meat so they probably wouldn't see why killing an animal for food is okay. There is a hunting section under the sports category. That way you don't set yourself up for bashing.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with hunting as long as you either eat or give to others for consumption. But if you're just hunting an leaving the animal there to waste away then that is a problem for me.

Don't pay any attention to Krikors.
He too busy hanging out under Ingrid Newkirk's desk trying to look up her skirt.
Now that we're done with the pleasantries, there is NOTHING wrong with hunting.
Good job on the 6 point buck!

i dont feel that there is anything the matter with hunting. congratulations on the good hunting!!!!!! if we dont have a season of hunting then the deer will starve and all sorts of things its a good way of getting food and as long as its leagal, and you enjoy it dont listen to the people that want to put it down. we use the meat, the fat , the skin, the hooves the antlers and sometimes the bones to make different things out of and i like beads made out of bone to do my beading with and the hides to make things with also. the hooves are good to give to your dog to chew and play with. we can use all the parts of the deer if we want to so what is wrong, we arent killing just to kill and we are not wasting, so you go for it and have a happy hunt and a really good time!
