A few days ago, I asked why my glucose was 229 one night two hours after eating, then 91 the next night, 5 hrs after eating. (Again, I have not been diagnosed with any blood sugar problems so far, but my mom is a diabetic and that is how I got to check.) I have been checking it periodically, altho I have not yet checked it on a completely empty stomach. My blood sugar has been totally normal since.....One night 114 two hours after a meal. Same night, 126 about 3 hrs after the meal, and about an hour after drinking a glass of cranberry juice. I checked my glucose today. It was 99, about three or four hours after eating.

I had drank some pop as well as eaten the first time I checked it and got that high reading.....but could it have been a fluke? I thought we did all the proper procedures....we made sure the strips were working correctly-they were, as well as entering the right code number......or was it momentarily high because of the soda? Should I leave it? Or should I see a doctor?

229 is the only value that raises a concern. Was it measured with a glucometer? if so, it's not so reliable for a diagnosis.
anyways, since you have a family history of diabetes, your doctor should check your plasma glucose.
if it's below 100 you shouldn't worry, if it's 100-126 you have impaired fasting glucose (prediabetes), and if it's >126 at 2 consecutive testings you have diabetes . If it's normal and you still want to be sure, an Oral glucose tolerance test can be performed, after your BG is tested you have to drink a solution with 75 grams of glucose and after 2 hours BG is measured again (plasma glucose, from vein). If it's below 140 you don't have any degree of glucose intolerance. If it's 140-200 you have impaired glucose tolerance, and if it's more than 200 you have diabetes.
anyways, you should adopt a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent diabetes.

sugar on an empty stomach should be below 105 if it's above 105 fasting after you wake up and check it, if your mom is a diabetic you could very well develope it or stay borderline, just check it when you wake up and don't eat after 11pm this will give you the results if it reads 105 or over then you are becoming a diabetic.
please watch, salt sugar, alot of stress is a key factor to diabetes believe it or not. when I'm under stres my sugar will go sky high like 200-300 even when I have'nt ate, also watch fats, and alot of sweets, if your thirsty alot that may be a sign for you if like I mentioned earlier your fasting glucose is 105 or over.I did recherch on this so I am well informed, and WATCH your weight and excesice, doing so will help you not to develope diabetes or will not make it worse a overweight person always has a hard time with diabetes,so PLEASE watch your pop use sugarless or change to another drink without sugar or use a small amount, use sweetners like spenda and puddings with no sugar but eat and act as if you have diabetes already, I wish I would have, that way your eating correctly, and making an illness like this beatable it's hard I KNOW!! Also don't worry yet it sounds pretty normal but I know how you feel this disease creeps up by the time you are diagnoised you could have nueropathy all over or swelling gained weight heat disease, high bp etc, and they don't go away feet problems being educated and aware and follow a good diet will give you a chance to catch it before you get the bad problem associated with this disease, take care Amy Y

blood sugar levels rise and fall through out the day, and can be elevated especially after eating. it all depends on what and how much of something you eat. things like cranberry juice is high in fructose which is a sugar found in fruits, and pop well unless it's diet we don't even have to go over this. normal fasting sugar levels are normally between 80-100 if it is a little higher or lower its not a problem. everything you are saying is pretty normal and you should not worry. as you get older your doctor will probably want to run test for diabetes due to your family history.

Sugar is toxic. Too much sugar in your blood will kill you. So it makes sense that the human body has mechanisms that normally prevent your blood sugar level rising to dangerous levels. Essentially your body produces insulin which pumps the excess blood sugar into your fat cells. Insulin maintains the blood sugar level. If you have a high metabolism, like you obviously do, then your body is very efficiently storing and then retrieving the excess sugar when you do need it. Your body is maintaining your blood sugar nicely. It's when this process goes wrong that you end up with dangerously high blood sugar levels - i.e. type 2 diabetes. You don't need to see a doctor. Your body is working properly.

See a doctor. A non-diabetic person's blood sugar would never reach 229, even after an ice cream sundae. You've got problems going on, adn damage is occuring w/ repeated high blood sugars. See an Internal Medicine or Endocrinologist who specializes in diabetes. best wishes!

Your blood sugar will spike when you drink sugary drinks or eat a lot of carbs. When your blood sugar is high, it activates the pancreas to release insulin, in turn, this lowers the blood sugar by allowing the glucose (blood sugar) to enter the cells to produce energy. Your blood sugars that you mentioned are all "normal" for what you ate/drank. Try taking your BS in the morning before eating or drinking anything. The normal range is 80-120. Proteins and carbs are what keep the blood sugar from spiking, they keep you going until the next meal with a slow release of insulin instead of a big load to bring the sugars down.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.
