This person's blood glucose and blood pressure is totally out of control as you probably well know.
My husband has been a type II Diabetic for over 25 years. For the first 21 years he saw his doctor regularly, took the meds prescribed and his condition grew worse and worse.
The reason was that he was relying on the doctors to "fix" his problem. Every diabetic must learn that they control their illness.
After years of research, I was able to help my husband. For the past 4 years he has been a different person. His Hemoglobin A1c (which is a 3 month look back on your blood sugars) was at 11 (it is supposed to be at a 7 or below - below 7 is best).
He had neuropathy is both is feet and could barely walk 100 feet before he had to stop, he was irritable all the time, tired, and just miserable. The doctor finally put him on insulin - 5 units at first - in the course of one year he was up to 43 units a night!
Here's what we did: We started counting and controlling his carbohydrate intake daily. Understanding that 15 grams of carbohydrates equal 1 carb, we count everything he eats.
We eliminated: potatoes, breads (unless it is a carb counting bread), pasta, gravies, desserts, candy, flour, sugar, etc.
You need to find out how many carbs you can safely eat in a day. We eat no more than 6 carbs a day (6 x15=90 grams)
We SCHEDULED regular exercise. We didn't just say "if we have time to exercise" - WE MADE TIME! At least 3 times a week we go to the gym and walk 2 miles a day on the track, work out on the equipment, swim and just enjoy ourselves.
My husband lost 75 pounds in 9 months, he has walked in 2 - 5K races, he is back to being himself again.
To have diabetes sucks! But it is what it is! The person you are talking about needs to understand that if he/she had cancer that would suck too. They would do whatever was necessary to control and conquer that disease. That is what must happen with Type II Diabetes. You must be in charge - not the diabetes.
The good news is - you have control. The bad news is - you have control.
Clean up your environment - get rid of all of the junk food, the soda pop, the chips, etc. Plan your meals - if you don't you will grab whatever is handy.
Schedule exercise and then do it like you would do anything else that must be done in a day - you wouldn't think of starting your day with out brushing your teeth - have that same thought about exercise.
Exercise actually helps the receptors on your blood cells to open up and accept the glucose. This gets the sugar out of your blood stream and into the cells that need it for energy.
Read the book, "Diabetes Solutions Revised and Updated by Dr. Richard Bernstein. It will change your life!
Do not simply rely on the medication from the doctor. Doctors can only do so much - you MUST take control of this disease and with the doctors help you can beat it.
By the way, my husbands HA1c is now 6.6, he is totally insulin free and has been for 3 years.
Change your lifestyle and live a better life!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Although diet and exercise are reasonable and appropriate they will never normalize the gluocse and blood pressure by themselves and I pray that this person is on medications for both the diabetes and the blood pressure and indeed with medical treatment both may be brought down to a reasonable level in 1 to 2 weeks or you should seek a second opinion.

Well as you see the problem here is quite a deranged blood glucose levels and blood pressure , you see u have been adviced rightly about this excercise thing ,as it is better to have excercise and modify change your lifestyle rather than use medicines, also u c that such alterations need lots of substance and courage take a longer time to effect and help alleviate problems , though one thing i can assure u , u will start feeling good with in a week.best of luck

In this case, Blood glucose can be fairly rapidly controlled with oral hypoglycemics, but upto a certain level. After that Lower glucose levels will only happen when the body weight also goes down.
One Kilogram of body weight will go down for about 7700 KCal of energy burnt. If you take 700 Kcal below your daily needs it will take eleven days to reduce 0ne kilo.
