Yes but be careful where you eat it. Make sure it is a reputable place without any issues, has many customers and turns over the sushi fast (keeps the sushi fresh). It may also take a couple of tries before you really like sushi, as it can be an acquired taste.

To date, the only verifiable sicknesses due to eating sushi are from the parasitic worms A. simplex and P. decipiens, which are rarely found in fish other than mackerel and salmon. The vast majority of those few cases of raw-fish-induced sickness were not in restaurants, but in homes where people without professional training tried to prepare sushi or sashimi.

Do a google search to pull up some data, you'll soon find that eating at a fast-food or 'family-style home cooking' restaurant is a far greater threat to your health!

If you mean sushi with raw fish, then it's only safe if it's totally fresh and properly prepared and transported.

If you're not in Japan, then the answer to your question may well be 'NO' - because of possible improper preparation and storage. But go to a decent, clean restaurant - as someone suggested. (Preferably - but not necessarily - one run by Japanese people, rather than the many that are run by people of other nationalities.) They will get the freshest fish they can - although if you later come to Japan and eat sushi you'll notice the difference that true freshness makes..!!

Not necessarily. I stick to the cooked stuff like eel and shrimp to stay on the safe side.

just google "is sushi safe" and educate yourself. I had a friend nearly die from parasites in raw fish sushi. Don't listen to people that say it's safe they're just demonstrating ignorance.

Very safe. I have it once or twice a week. It's even healthier than some of the foods on our side of the Pacific. The average lifespan of a Japanese male is 92, while it's around the late 70s here. Something they ate maybe?

If you're worried about contaminants, check out the restaurant first before you order. If even the washroom is not clean, leave. Most Japanese restaurants, though, put hygiene and cleanliness above all else. Enjoy!

As long as the fish they are using is flash frozen, then it kills anything that is considered dangerous. It has to be sashimi grade fish otherwise I would be weary. Sushi is great.

If you're worried about contaminents, check out the restaurant first. If you can hear two Russians whispering, leave right now.

They are delicious.
Like as for any other food, you have to make sure you use or eat fresh ingredients.
You should try. You will know what you have been missing.
