What are some good excercizes for a teenager that will give them good abs and a smaller waist? They dont have alot of time a day so they need to be quick (like 5-10 minutes) for each day.

The only way to see your abdominal muscles is to have less fat covering them. That means walking or doing any excercise that keeps your heart rate at about 70% of your maximum for an hour or more, and eating a healthy diet.

Increasing your hip and butt muscles, and increasing upper body strength can help your waist look smaller.

Do some side bends for the waist too.

Best abdominal: Lay on your stomach. Raise your body up on your toes and your elbows/forearms only. Keep your butt from going up in the air.....stay straight, and hold that position as long as you can. Make sure you BREATHE. Rest, then repeat 3 times.

This is a loaded question because, technically, you cannot spot reduce.

If you're overweight, the first thing you'll need to do is to get more cardio in your life on a daily basis. Incorporate more fruits & veggies in your diet.

Then, I'd recommend a couple of different workouts that you can purchase to do at home -- both by Cathe Friedrich. The first one is Abhits, which has approximately 12 individual 5-12 minute targeted abdominal workouts -- you can do one every day. The second is Cathe's Core Max - which features 3 20 minute very intense core/abdominal workouts. You'll need a stability ball for this. Although you state that your time is limited, surely you could fit in one or two a week.

Do one of these every day for 7 days - I guarantee you'll see a difference! (And you'll love me for introducing you to Cathe!)

Crunches, reverse crunchs and Pilates. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water.

Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.
