You cannot enter Mecca if you are not a Muslim.
The same is true for Medina. When you approach the city by car for example. There is a check post. Non Muslims are turned back.
This would make it difficult for you to open any store in Mecca. (I take it thet you are non muslim)
These restrictions are specific to those cities that are considered Shrines. You could walk in Jedda with your bible in hand and no one would care or notice. You would not be allowed to preach in public though.

To the first answerer: I don't think it's unfair. Praying in Islam is different from praying in Christianity, because Christians can pray anywhere, towards any direction while Muslims can't. So I see no reason why we shouldn't have special rooms for praying in airports. Someone said that there are already which is good news. After all, Christians can open churchs in airports if they want to, what's with that? :)
About your second question, I don't think you can open a Bible store in Mecca and don't blame Islam for that, blame Muslim's wrong practice of applying religion. However, you can open a bible store anywhere else in the Arab world and you'll be more than welcomed to live in a Muslim society with your Bible in hand. I assure you, Muslims don't bite!

Everyone should be granted the freedom to practice their religion; be that providing place, time, permission, acceptance, etc.
Egypt is a muslim country and there are several Bible and Christian books stores. You can pray in churches and have all the needed freedom to practice your religion. Opening a Bible store in Mecca shows that you do not have a very good business orientation! Who will buy a Bible in Mecca? Will you have a market?
Peace

Although I am not a muslim I am familiar with their culture and perhaps I can answer......I do believe that in Asian countries there are rooms for muslims to pray. However it varies from country to country where large amount of muslims accumulate. Of course at the expense of a few bad apples, the good guys get blamed for their discrimination so it is a personal matter.
Only muslims are allowed in Mecca as it is a sacred place for them so there is no way that you can even go near there. Be assured that should you even go near there with a Bible in hand, you will never come out with your head intact!! If you cannot embrace your neighbor and love him for what he is, that bible is obsolete to you!! .....fyi...I am a christian....

Everyone has the right to pray, and since Muslims must do it poniting to the North, I see no reason why they shouldn't be given the chance to do it even at the airport. Second answer: it depends on the Muslim country, Islam is the religion of tolerance, so wherever Islam is professed according to the Quran you'll have no problem whatsoever to go around with your Bible in your hand or to open a Bible store where you like.

Muslims should be allowed to pray. In USA, it would be a violation of the US constitution we believe in. Its because we allow this freedom it makes us a great country. We should protect these rights for everyone no matter who they are.
For for opening a bible store in a muslim country, yes you can. Perhaps not in mecca and NO , they will not cut off your head if you tried something like that. Don't listen to the people here, they speak out of ignorance.
Islam does not make it compulsory for people to follow Islam. Everyone is allowed to follow and preach their own religion.
Remember muslims believe in the bible and the torah as well. It required of them to believe in all the revealed books. So they would not be offended if walked around with a bible in your hand in their country.

In Iran you can be behaded for owning a bible In Dubai its very difficult too, as for other countries I cannot comment on but would be interested to know. But I dont think they would allow you to open up a bible store in a islamic country.

Yes, I think there should be proper places for Muslim to conduct their prayers.
As for your second question, here in Egypt, we have manyyy Christians. They live peacefully just like Muslims do. One of my very close friends is Christian and it's not even an issue. It's like, "one of my very close friends has long hair!"
I even went to a school which was originally a church, and almost 1/3 of the students there were christians. It's no problem whatsoever.
Getting to the point --> You can open a bible anywhere you want (in Egypt, dunno as for other countries) and it would be just like opening a comic book or a novel! No harm done!

I think what they are asking of us is wrong and unfair. We cannot walk around praying and reading the Bible in public, let alone open up religious stores or churches anywhere we want to! With them being allowed to do this then I'll just have to demand having my church in the airport for Sunday services! It's only fair!!

I have no comments on your first questions. For your second question, I have a simple fact that most probably you are unaware of, No one except a muslim is allowed in Makkah.
How would you be treated as a Christian in a Muslim country with your bible in your hand??? If a muslims knows of Islam's teachings, he won't rush towards you and strangle you. Most muslims will welcome you and help you.
